SOULJA (AYAAM)

The song (AYAAM)  focuses on a specific period in the artist’s life, which was and still is the worst period for all Sudanese people experiencing this war. Soulja who is appointed  by his fans as the king of the Sudanese rap scene is a fantastic rapper with superb flow, outstanding performance and diverse lyrics. He excels in writing , producing and directing with outstanding content in a humors context.  Soulja was at home living in peace with his family, and in an instant everything changed, the war broke out between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese army.

Soulja is respected, loved and cherished by his fans and friends, he managed to create a very moving  master piece that reflectes the pain and sorrow of the damage that bestowed our beloved country Sudan which led to the displacement of millions of Sudanese inside and outside the country. After experiencing aggression, violence and harassment, he took that pain, aggression ,humiliation, hardship, violence and transformed it

into an exquisite song. What he effortlessly did is to describe our country as a lost loved one, condemning her for abandoning him in a heartwarming manner showcasing his writing talent, what is portrayed in this wonderful song is the end of a love story between him and Sudan highlighting the pain of having to leave it. In a stroke of genius that moved millions of people Soulja tells the story of his escape from the country at that time, remembers the days he spent in his country, and recounts the difficult moments he experienced from the humiliation and harassment of the Rapid Support Forces.

After leaving the country, he describes the harshness saying, “This is not your city,  no familiar eyes to console you. The song contains lyrics that describe every Sudanese citizen during this period. A song that touched all segments of society. The song carries many meanings about love, betrayal, alienation, displacement, and war. It carries many mixed feelings

that formulated this song.

The song “AYAAM” deserves to be the best song of the year because it represents us this year in particular.

Despite of all the trials and tribulations that occurred in Sudan and his own experiences Soulja managed to thrive, push forward and focus on his craft , not just by participating but lightening up the stage at one of the largest festivals in Sole DXB (Dubai) 2023 and Sandstorm in Riyadh Saudi Arabia sharing the  stage with multiple international stars from Heavy metal to 50 Cent being part of the Middle East / North Africa artist , Sandstorm  festival is now one of the biggest music events in the Middle East with more than 100 artists performing across seven stages over three days and to say the least Soulja did his country proud by lighting up the stage and performing his latest track Qesas from his new album that’s yet to drop Deja Vu and enjoyed the audience singing along to every word.
